LIVE WEBINAR: Introduction to OpenCPI (US)

Aaron Olivarez, Senior Systems Engineer at CNF Technologies

Thursday, June 30, 2022

11:00 AM - 12:00 PM (PDT)

Abstract:

The Open Component Portability Infrastructure (OpenCPI) is an open source software (OSS) framework for developing and executing component-based applications on heterogeneous systems. By targeting heterogeneous systems, the framework supports development and execution across diverse processing technologies including GPPs (general purpose processors), FPGA (field programmable gate arrays), and GPUs (graphics processing units) assembled into mixed systems.

OpenCPI is beneficial to mission-critical applications such as Software Defined Radio (SDR) that have strict size, weight and power (SWaP) constraints which often require technology agility and diversity over time. OpenCPI also helps with code portability and reusability by providing the APIs, software modules and IP cores that abstract the complexities of the underlying hardware platform away from the application developer.

In this webinar, we will show you OpenCPI's design methodology and how to verify and validate OpenCPI's HDL workers using Riviera-PRO.

Agenda:
  • What is OpenCPI?
  • OpenCPI Core Concepts
  • OpenCPI Development Methodology
  • OpenCPI & Riviera-PRO Simulation Workflow
  • Conclusion
  • Q&A

Presenter Bio:

Jim Lewis, VHDL User, Designer, Verification Engineer, Trainer, OSVVM developer, and IEEE VHDL Chair

Aaron Olivarez, Senior Systems Engineer at CNF Technologies
Aaron is the Chief Engineer for the Open Component Portability Infrastructure (OpenCPI) framework. He has a strong interest in component development and design reusability in the Software Defined Radio (SDR) space. He teaches courses and provides video tutorials on OpenCPI, encouraging the use of OpenCPI as a platform of choice for SDR development.
